OneABILITY Games

Trail Films recently teamed up with OneAbility Games to cover their inaugural five-day multi-sport event at the Richmond Olympic Oval. The five-day production required a highly focused, multi-faceted approach to capture two very different layers of competition.

The first 3 days focused on the PLAY stream, where nearly 900 school-aged children with physical, intellectual, and neurodiverse disabilities discovered the joy of adaptive sports through play and friendly competition. In the final 3 days, the focus shifted to the parallel ACHIEVE stream, showcasing elite competitors in national-level qualifying championships for wheelchair basketball, blind hockey, and goalball.

On the production side, this fast-paced operation required a highly efficient workflow. Trail handled all field production and quick-turn editing, delivering daily highlight packages in both 16:9 landscape and 9:16 vertical formats to feed the their various social channels.

Following the event, a final master recap edit was delivered that blended the best sports action with powerful keynote speech highlights from Canada’s Chief Accessibility Officer Stephanie Cadieux, Paralympic Medalist Nathan Clement, and Executive Director Andrea Carey.

In an exciting milestone for the project, the footage was later licensed by ADIDAS for a global FIFA 26 commercial campaign celebrating accessibility in youth sports, an incredible milestone that shows just how far these stories can reach when you capture them with the right intent.
